Journey in Adjara
Journey to Achara
The tour takes you from Tbilisi to Batumi, two unique Georgian cities which are major tourist sites with a blend of Georgian, European and Asian architecture and culture, and exclusive local cuisine.
A dolphin show, a visit to the world of dinosaurs, and one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world await you.
The old historical neighbourhood is perched on a cliff overlooking the Mtkvari
River. The district is one of the earliest inhabited areas of Tbilisi and features Narikala fortress--originally also royal residence--built by king Vakhtang Gorgasali in the 5th century AD.
This old district of Tbilisi is famous for its sulfur baths. According to legend king Vakhtang Gorgasali’s falcon fell into a hot spring and the King decided to found a capital city here.
Kutaisi and Sataplia nature reserve
From Kutaisi, the ancient capital of Colchis--Sataplia nature reserve is within easy reach. It is a unique complex of geological, paleontological, speleological and botanical interest, established in 1935. The main attractions of the reserve are a karst cavern and footprints in the limestone rock, of herbivorous and predatory dinosaurs.
The walls and ruins of the once-strategically important 6th-century fortress still stand. Petra successfully controlled the trade route from its position on the cape and was fought over by Persia and Byzantium.
Fifteen km from Batumi lies the Roman coastal fortification of Gonio. Pliny the Elder referred to it in the 1st century AD and it is believed that Matthias, one of the 12 apostles, is buried here.
This 11th-century stone bridge of perfect proportions was constructed on the orders of Queen Tamar.
